Istanbul is Europe's most populous city (the world's 3rd largest city proper) and Turkey's cultural and financial center. It extends both on the European (Thrace) and on the Asian (Anatolia) side of the Bosphorus, and is thereby the only metropolis in the world which is situated on two continents. The city was chosen as joint European Capital of Culture for 2010.

Great angle!
What a beautiful train Station. Love the fact that is so close to the water.
Wow, this is GORGEOUS! The water is a terrific color and my mouth just popped open when I saw your photo...kudos to you!
What I really like about your photos is that they show how Istambul is a city of the sea. thanks for taking us on a journey with you.
I remember that this building has a beautiful interior.
That's an impressive building.
Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I have signed up to follow your blog and look forward to your future photos of Istanbul. My wife (Julie of Scottsdale, Arizona Daily Photo) and I loved our visit to Istanbul about 10 years ago. We stayed in the Swiss Hotel and and enjoyed visiting the historical buildings, grand mosques, palaces, and a boat cruise on the Bosphorus.
A train station?!! Impressive.
lovely architecture! ^0^
hope you can post the interiors of the station one of these days... ^0^
Such interesting architecture for the train station servicing Istanbul.
It looks like a very historical building. A bit eerie, but magnificent nonetheless.
Looks lovely!
A very fancy train station, and right by the water-a clever angle to get it all in!

I would have never thought that was train station. Great building.
The best train station in the whole wide world and this is a great photo--especially like the Pizza Tower effect :-) I used to take the night train to Ankara for the winter break trips during my teens from this station. And the trains had the best restaurant cars! Such fun memories... Can you take a picture of the entrance, the front steps?
